Mrs.Mavis

What do I do?

I see kids that have medications that have to be given every day.
I see kids that are sick, running a fever, or throwing up.
I splint broken bones and get them to Dr.
I put on bandaids, sew on buttons, check temperatures, ears, throat, and eyes. Even sometimes just give TLC and hugs, and a thousand other things.

When should a child come to me?

A child will go home if they are throwing up, fever over 100°, pinkeye, broken bones or if they are experiencing breathing problems, and/or chest pain.

When can a child recieve medication?

For a child to recieve medication at school there has to be a written Doctor's order with name of medication, amount to be given, and what time to give it. The parent will then sign the form, bring medication to school, we count the medication, we both sign a paper saying how many pills were in the medication, I do all the paper work and inform teacher what time to send them for meds.

What qualifications do I have?

Anything a Doctor writes an order for, short of surgery, I can do. Just as long as I have Doctor's permission and parent's permission.
